The City of Da Nang has commissioned studioMilou Singapore to design a major commemorative landscape for 29 March Park, a site closely associated with the city’s Liberation Day on 29 March 1975. Envisioned as a complete rejuvenation of the 19‑hectare lake and park, the project began construction in April 2026 and is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. At its heart is the “Ring of Peace”, an elegant elliptical colonnade that establishes a new civic landmark while integrating water‑cleansing systems, biodiversity‑rich planting, and discreet public amenities for families and visitors.
More than a formal monument, the “Ring of Peace” is conceived as a calm, open promenade where residents and guests can gather, walk, and reflect on the sacrifices and resilience that have shaped Da Nang’s modern history. By evoking liberation rather than depicting it literally, the monument frames the lake as a contemplative mirror of the city’s journey from wartime struggle to dynamic contemporary growth, creating a public landscape in which everyday leisure and collective remembrance naturally coexist.
