118
A lunch organised by National Gallery Singapore on 30 October brought together many of the key figures involved in the Gallery’s design and construction, as both a heartfelt thank‑you and a celebration of its 10th anniversary. It was a moving occasion and an opportunity to reflect and reconnect with those who played important roles in the making of the Gallery, including Tommy Koh, Koh Seow Chuan, Michael Koh, Kelly Cheng, Sushma Goh, Mark Chee, and many others.
I attended as the architect of the Gallery and as a representative of an outstanding team of young Singaporean and Vietnamese architects who worked closely with the studio and client teams over many years. Their dedication and professionalism were crucial to bringing the project to completion, especially in its final months, when life circumstances meant I could not be on site. I am particularly grateful to Wenmin Ho, Janis Goh, Charmaine Boh, Jason Tan, and our current Director of studioMilou Vietnam, Nguyen Thanh Trung, among many others who contributed to this journey. Warm thanks also go to Eugene Tan and the Gallery team for hosting such a meaningful gathering.
